• Comment: Gepp & Gepp 1905 used the name C. repens for a collection of C. coelothrix from Christmas Island. See also Silva et al 1996 Univ calif Public Bot. 79:771 for nomenclatural notes. This name is the accepted basionym, but is based on the type of Conferva repens J. G. Agardh non Dillwyn.
