Lucas states in the protologue 'The plant has been found so far only in the outer waters of Port Arthur. Mrs Perrin and I dredged a fragment in 5 or 6 fathoms in February. Other specimens were obtained for me in the same locality by Mrs E Mawle in September.' This is not done by using the standard 'Habitat.- ... ' structure used for other protologues in Lucas (1931).
