This represents the protologue of Caulerpa hypnoides C. Agardh non Lamouroux. Fucus hypnoides R. Brown ex Turner is a later homonym of Fucus hypnoides Wulfen. The earliest name for this taxon is Caulerpa flexilis Lamouroux.
