C subsimplex represents a new name for a Cladophora based on Conferva simpliciuscula Kuetzing. See Silva et al 1996 Univ calif Public Bot. 79:782 for nomenclatural information. Lewis 1987 Dept of Def. Report MRL-R-1063:14 does not indicate where in QLD this taxon occurs.
