This name is a later homonym of S. leptopodum Sonder. Millar & Kraft (1994 Aust. Syst. Bot. 7:31) indicate the taxon they have is not S. leptopodum Sonder but does match S. leptopodum sensu J.G. Agardh. See Womersley 1987:446 for discussion of this taxon and possible placement in S. linearifolium.
