Type locality:
Holotype: MELU 24258, cystocarpic (collected by John M. Huisman & Alan J.K. Millar, 17 November 1982) (Fig. 2). Type Locality: Keyhole, One Tree Island, Queensland (Fig. 1) (23° 30'S, 152° 05'E), epizoic on bryozoan Pleurotoichus clathratus (Harmer) at 20 m depth.
