• Comment: Prodinophysis was erected by Balech (a zoological plankton expert) because the name Phalacroma was already in use in Zoological nomenclature. Balech wanted to recognise two separate entites Dinophysis and another entity. He later however (1967) sank his new entity into Dinophysis.
